Feel free to page any active vampire staff if there are any questions during the application process. The command +staff will reveal a list of staff, and the command page <name>=<message> will allow for private communication. All application materials are to be sent to quickly@metrostaff.spork.com,.

Conceptualization

The first step in the process begins with the submission of a character concept. To submit the concept, utilize +concept Vampire=<concept>. This concept is not required to be developed at this point, but you should put some thought into how it will perform on a MUSH environment. You should receive a response from vampire staff within 48 hours.

Background

The Vampire Sphere utilizes a questionnaire rather than a traditional background. This is designed to prevent extra work while developing the information most likely to become important during a character's lifespan. After receiving an acceptance for your submitted concept, simply answer following questions.

Questionnaire

PERSONALITY:

Explain your flaws.

What are the weaknesses in your characters personality and aptitudes?

(These may not be stats, but how you see the character's other weaknesses.)


Explain your merits.

What are the strengths in your character's personality and aptitudes?


Describe your physical appearance.


Give a 2-3 word description of your character concept?


NIGHTLY LIFE:

Where do you work if you have a job?

How do you get around the city?


Explain your resources.

How do you earn your resources if you don't have a job?

What do you own? (Cars, businesses, homes, etc)

1) ID's you possess (Drivers Licence, Passports, Fake IDs, Etc.)

3) Citizenship (if other than Canadian) and immigration status.

7) Source of Income (If you have Resources)

8) Anything else you think might be important were someone to run a BG Check on you.

If you could change anything about your sect, what would it be?

What is your characters attitude towards ghouls?

What is your view on human morality?

Email answers to the above questions, and review the guidelines in +sinfo stats based on the template the vampire staff suggest for you. Sound long and complicated? It's actually meant to help us see your character completely and save you time in having Jnotes set.

Statistics

The following news files contain important information for character creation: +news stats and +news influence. Any score of 4 or 5 must be accompanied by an explanation. After submitting the questionnaire, submit a set of proposed stats. Thaumaturgy/Necromancy paths count as discipline dots in chargen, even though they cost less once in-game. Thaumaturgists start with a free corresponding ritual with each level of their primary path. Other rituals must be purchased with freebies.

Remember that at your core you are a hunter. Vampires have to eat and to eat they have to hunt. On Metro that means that you have to use the +hunt system. Think about how your character gets the vitae that he or she needs to survive and be sure to have your stats reflect this. The methods for the +hunt system are:

The difficulty of hunting is adjusted variably based on where you are hunting. So hunting for animals in the middle of bar will probably fail while hunting for animals in the wilderness might be easier than it is in the park. Difficulty is adusted based on the location, type of hunt, and whether the player has Fame or the merit "inoffensive to animals."

Camarilla and Independent Vampire Starting Stats

Tier 1: Neonate

Post Fledgling to 99 years old. 11th-13th Generation

Ability scores can only be raise above 3 with the use of freebie points. Neonates may not begin with any ability scores of 5. Nosferatu are strongly encouraged to take Sewer Lore. Other clans may request it if doing so makes sense for the character. Neonates may not begin with a discipline score higher than 3. Neonates are limited to are limited to Generation 2. They are generally less than 100 years of age.

Tier 2: Ancillae

100-299 years old. 10th-13th Generation

  • Attributes: 7/5/4
  • Abilities: 15/10/7
  • Bonus Lores: Vampire Lore 5, Kindred Lore 3

  • Disciplines: 5
