Mortal Applications: Merits and Flaws

This is currently a work in progress. All rulings are subject to change, especially as any exploitable combinations are found. Other REVISED Merits and Flaws may be accepted on a case by case basis. 2nd Edition merits and flaws will not be accepted.

Policies
- Ability Aptitude Linguistics (M:tA) may not be taken with Natural Linguistics (V:tM).
- Ability Aptitude Leadership (M:tA) may not be taken with Natural Leader (V:tM).
- Merits and Flaws may not stack with dice and difficulty modifiers.
- If there are differences between book versions of a merit or flaw, applicant must choose one version.
- If one version uses virtues and paths, and the other does not, mortals default to the version which uses paths. System-wise mortals are covered by Vampire: the Masquerade. Thus those merits and flaws which are duplicated in other systems, like softhearted, where the difference is whether they use virtues and paths we will use the form that uses paths or virtues.
- New rulings on cross system merit/flaw combinations are subject to be enforced and created at any time. Keep in mind combinations that break the system will most likely have house rules put in place to avoid abuse, such as the no stacking rule above.

Wraith
All wraith merits and flaws require wraith staff approval. If you medium and the like, it is suggested you consider the normalcy talent, which is how good you are at managing the dead and living together without looking like you're insane. It is about dealing with the wraith who is yelling in your face while giving a presentation to your boss which will make or break your career.
Also, if you take medium you should consider the primary talent: Normalcy. This is your ability, one way or another, to manage to make your character not look insane and function in the real world.
