Demon:General History
From Metro Wiki
Before time was time, Celestial beings were created to bring God's Grand Design into fruition. And so these beings were given tasks to create a new world and every living thing on it. The earth, the sky, the oceans, animals, even the lands where the dead would dwell were all the creations of the Celestials under God’s will. Eventually Man and Woman were created, and the Angels were given a new task to watch over these creatures of Free Will.
It was the Morningstar, Lucifer, whom foresaw an impending darkness coming on the horizon. And so he and those who followed him decided to reveal themselves to Man and disobey the Creator's directives to not interfere. Instead, these defiant Celestials decided to teach humans to understand and manipulate their reality with the Divine Spark within. Unfortunately, this proved to be a failure as humankind was not ready for this power just yet. Upon the fall of Man and God’s decision of their punishment, the defiance the Fallen already had for God blossomed into hatred for God and Man alike. And so the Age of Wrath began and many years passed before the Fallen were finally brought before God. Just as Man had been punished, so too were the Celestials who had defied His command.
And so, the Fallen ones abandoned Heaven and entered a deep, dark pit of Shadows... a place of such sensory isolation that even time itself was unknown to them. Only a few managed to escape this fate, heading to Earth and merging with anything they could find to stay alive. And so for centuries the Earthbound were seen as Gods to humankind, and treated like cattle in retribution.
And so the world changed, with the Fallen none the wiser. In their own way, the minds of Man took the world in dramatic directions that only the Celestials had thought of before. Within a few millennia, the world was completely different from the one the Fallen had left behind. And soon… neither was the afterlife they had created either.
But then, at the eve of a new millennium a great battle took place to destroy an ancient group claiming to be descended from the first murderer, Caine. In the confusion, a large explosion occurred, ripping the Void and causing a great storm within the Shadowlands. The vibrations of this explosion reached so far that it caused the Abyss to crack. Seeing the first light they’d seen in so long, the first of the condemned angels began to break free.
The long years in darkness was not without a price, however. Some of the Fallen had grown even more venomous and cold, moving back into the world to enact their revenge. Others had lost their hatred over the long years, and wished to offer their knowledge to this new world. Others still, simply wished to explore and learn what Man has accomplished in all this time. No matter what their goal, the ‘Demons’ as they called themselves now had to find mortal hosts to survive… and cope with their inner Torment that had built up over the ages.
The dawn of the new millennium came and went, with the escaped prisoners of God witnessing it in secret. In establishing their place within the world, the Fallen managed to separate into two distinct groups:
The Habbalah seek to enact their revenge on Man for what they did, while the Elohim want to guide Humanity as they once did. But both must also contend with the Earthbound, who have grown so powerful that it seems impossible to stop them.
Who will God forgive in the end?
