These are not all the NPCs held by Changeling, but the ones that are the most publically-known. For others that you think you might know about, get in touch with Shylock. Obviously, these are not individuals that people will meet very often. If, however, you feel you have a need/desire to deal with one of them, let Changeling staff know.

Count Aldrich Zared And Sir Bryan Zared

Count Aldrich is a very busy man. The queen herself has granted him a larger county than one would usually be in charge of. He's a very fair man, but he's a very traditional sidhe. Things work in order. He believes he deserves the respect of the commoners because he is sidhe. He believes he deserves the respect of the other nobles because he outranks them and he has earned his rank. He doesn't believe in handing out rank to people who haven't earned it.

Count Aldrich has a son, Bryan Zared, whom he adopted at the age of 3. The child chrysalized at the age of 5. It's believed throughout the county that the Count knew this would happen, but he's never flat out said as much. After Bryan's saining, he was immediately taken on as Aldrich's squire. Since being taken on as Squire, Bryan has been privvy to almost all of his father's activities. He's being actively groomed to become a high-ranked noble and has achieved the title of Knight thus far. He was knighted at 13, and is now 17. The Count refuses to be the one to grant title to his son, insisting that Bryan must do something that makes others feel he's worthy of it.

The Count is fairly easy for the Baron(ess)s to contact, but he will have little to do with anyone who attempts to contact him without going through the proper channels, except in extreme circumstances. The Count leaves the day to day running of the city up to the rulers of the two Baronies.

Aldrich is an Unseelie Grump of House Liam.

Bryan is an Unseelie Wilder of House Liam.

Seer Manda Mandel

Not much is known about the Oracle, Manda Mendel. She is an independent entity, who is not a member of the Count's retinue or staff. It is known, though, that the Count holds a great respect for her and often seeks her counsil.

She is an ancient woman who has been around as long as anyone can remember. Stories of the past often include her. She will never tell anyone her age, and is very offended if anyone asks about it. It's generally believed that she's somewhere around 150 years old, but no one knows for sure.

Though she has a home in the mundane world, where she lives the life of a kindly old grandmother figure, anyone who wants to meet with her must go to the Dreaming to do so. She has a shack in the Dreaming where she can be found when she's needed. Somehow she always knows when someone is looking for her. She's known to be hard of hearing, and it's really difficult to avoid fulfilling her requests.

Manda is an Unseelie Sluagh grump.

Thane Mark Thorburn

Mark Thorburn is Count Aldrich's Thane. He's more or less The Captain of the Guard. He's a crass grump troll of the sort you don't want to cross. He's well known for his service to the Kingdom and his loyalty to the Count is almost legendary. He has more than his fair share of battle scars, and was a big part of the war with the Dreaming Hoarde in the 70s.

Mark walks with a limp, due to the fact that he has a peg-leg for the lower half of his left leg. And the guy likes coffee. If you want to win a few brownie points, bring him a Timmies when you go to see him.

Mark is an Unseelie Grump Troll Knight of house Gwydion.

Bard Samantha Reid

Samantha is generally known to work for the Count. She's a very hyper teenager who seems to have connections everywhere. There's very little that goes on that she doesn't somehow hear about. And if there's a story to be told, she's going to tell it. To anyone and everyone who will listen. If you have a secret, don't tell it to Samantha or it won't be secret for very long.

It's unknown why the Count puts up with her. Generally he clashes with personalities like hers. Some speculate that it's because she somehow gets the dirt on everyone. Others think it's because she's a truely gifted Bard. Legendary stories will never die with her around. And while the gossip she spreads is non-stop, it frequently fades from view after a short period of time.

Sam is an Unseelie Boggan wilder

Reeve Patrick Walker

Patrick Walker may be a little young, but he's a very trustworthy sort. He's trusted by the Count himself, as well as the Seer Manda, who is generally very obscure when she discusses where her loyalties lie. He takes his job as the Reeve seriously, and is known for having a sort of 'confidentiality policy'. If the Baroness' of the area are unable to resolve an issue and you feel that you need to go to the Count about it, Pat is the man to talk to.

Pat is always more than willing to sit down and discuss your concerns and worries with you. Often times he's able to resolve a situation without it ever needing to go to the Count. He's good at keeping identities discrete, when necessary, and can take annonymous concerns to the Count without incurring any wrath.

Pat is a Seelie Boggan Wilder.

Bernard the Ice Dragon

Bernard is a beastly dragon chimera who has an occasional winter home in the tundra, living much further south most of the year. The dragon's quite erudite and learned regardless of his fierce appearance, though has very little knowledge of customs and rules -- he's learned everything he knows through books. Very young for a dragon, he's still learning the ropes, so to speak. Always wears a pair of tiny glasses perched on his nose, and is known for having a steam-powered Walkman headset of suitable dragon size.

Bernard's quite wise and has access to a number of texts and knowledge that are difficult to find. While he has little knowledge of cantrips, he does have considerable talent with ice and frost and is quite happy to chat with anyone who stops by when he's around.

Bernard is a Sentient Chimera.
